Matthew has worked so hard this year to get his Bear. And it would not have happened without his dad so it only seemed fitting that Dad receive the pin.

He was so looking forward to shooting the bows and the guns... I wonder why his smile is not spread from ear to ear.

We decided to take a trip to the top of Utah.

Yes that is snow Matt is standing in.

We took the tram at Snowbird to the top of Hidden Peek. There were some die hard snowboarders on the tram headed to hike to the snow and board down.

I need to take some time and add my pictures from Christmas day... but that is not going to happen today, but I want to share something Matt said last night.

We usually do not answer the phone if we do not know who is calling... note to all of you with unlisted numbers and toll free numbers, well last night when the phone rang Matt checked the screen to see who was calling and it said FRIENDS OF MS... He asked me if he should answer it because it must be for him, afterall it said Friends of MS for Matt Story. I thought that was a classic.

My baby girl is turning 19... who would believe that?

The dogs stress Ashley out, even though they did not jump on her but they loved the way she smelled.

Marley was very curious about who she was... At least they did not bark at her this time... Ash handles that pretty well... she laughs at them.

I must have been 9 years old when I had this beautiful child.

I would love to know what is going on in that mind of hers. It is sure a blessing that she is so happy. She loves to smile and loves to laugh... her laugh is infectious.... she has a way of making you want to laugh with her.

Great grandpa and grandma came by.. The first person Ashley always asks to see is her Bubs (aka great grandpa). She really is excited to see them... my photography skills just don't show it.

McKenzie has wanted to see Ash for a long time... so we made sure she had a chance to see her cousin.

Matt loves his sister... he asked if I would bring Ashley home on my way back from working in Provo. With photos like this, I am glad I did.

Ashley is very affectionate... she loves the opposite sex whether it is her dad, her brother or the male nurses where she lives.

We brought Ashley home for a few days before Thanksgiving. We were able to capture a few smiles.

Matt fell off the sliding parallel bars on October 8, 2008. He fell about 6 feet to the ground. His collar bone looked as though it just pulled apart on the x-ray.

The beauty of Glacier

One of the peaks surrounding the Logan Pass area.

This river pours into McDonald Lake in Glacier National Park,
Matt and I hiked down and soaked our feet in this ice cold water
The water was so clear and so cold, it felt wonderful on our feet.

For some reason Matt thought we needed a photo of this guy... I guess he wanted to document that he can make friends where ever he goes.

This old guy wanted to give Matt some fashion and mining tips.

If you look closely you can see the roadway carved out of the mountain, we are headed down that road!!! At least we will be traveling along the mountain edge and not the outside edge

We decided to head for Waterton International Peace Park.

We love this place. You are guaranteed to see wildlife, amazing scenery and interesting people.

Cameron Falls is guaranteed to be amaze you.

We took this economical ride to tour the town.

Matt loved the surrey ride.

Fenske Family Reunion

After 2 days in the car, we let Matt out and see if he could take down this T-Rex

He tried his hardest, but didn't make much progress.
Climb on the mountains
And hide in the caverns.

We were off to Uncle Barry and Aunt Laura's.... and of course their favorite corral!!

Poor Shorty didn't know what he was in for.

The kids lined up and Shorty went around

And around. After each child rode Shorty 4 times

A few of the kids rode Shorty alone around the corral. Matt wanted to show us his skills....

Then Anna took Shorty for a spin by herself.

And sweet little Mary, only 3 years old and so capable of taking on the world!!!

Summer Vacation

We attended the Peterson Family Reunion in Cardston, Alberta, Canada.

Some interesting things about our trip:

The exchange rate was $1.02 US for $1 Canadian.
A small bag of ice was $3.00
A Liter of gas was $1.29

We left home on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 and headed toward Idaho Falls, we visited the Tautphaus Park Zoo. We saw a Tiger, snow leopard and otters. We were there while the penquins were fed. Matt found the tiny poison dart frogs. This zoo had numerous birds including pelicans, the pink spoon-billed crane and the red-crested cardinal. We saw an animal we had never heard of before the New Guinea singing dog.

We went to dinner with Kim's brother Taylor and his wife Katie. We tried a restaurant they had not yet tried called Bubba's. We were lucky enough to go on all-you can eat rib night. Matthew thought he was big enough to try the all you can eat ribs. He managed to eat 2 of the ribs they were so big.

On Wednesday we went to Yellowstone National Park. We saw some beautiful hot pots, 2 buffalo laying in dust wallows, several elk laying in the shade along side the road. Matthew has an amazing ability to see wildlife, he spotted a white wolf running along the tree line.

Matt also spotted several eagle nests and eagle parents feeding their eagle babies as we traveled from the north entrance to Yellowstone to Great Falls, Montana.

This waterfall is one of many on the fire hole river. This small drive was beautiful and well worth the detour.

Matt and Alan walked along this river after stopping at a small hot pot along the river.

We saw this beautiful dragonfly, I was struck by

the most unusual colors. While we walked

through the Japanese gardens in Lethbridge,

we saw electric blue dragonflies.

Our next stop were the geysers. These two photos are actually pictures of the same geyser, one from the top of the geyser the other from the drainage spot for the geyser. I found it absolutately amazing that the same geyser could create so many amazing colors on the ground.

Alan and Matt spent most of the day shoveling snow. As you can see we almost lost Matt in all that snow.
